Zeo Muñoz from the Dominican Republic, is a bohemian spirit who is blessed with a melodious voice and lyrics that although are inspired by heartbreaking experiences, make you fall in love. Zeo identifies himself with the sunset and sad topics with which he gets inspiration when making his music. He loves sleeping by an open window, perhaps for the muses to visit him because in his solitude he has written his best songs and still continues to do so. Zeo confesses that he is not a good dancer but his music and melody will make all of us dance.

¿Cómo empezaste tu carrera musical?

How did you start your musical career?

I started at age 17 in my native Dominican Republic, from my home I started writing my first songs and then put together my first band. I remember often singing alone in my room or in the basement of a building. The truth is that you never stop learning when it comes to music

¿A qué edad escribiste tu primera canción?

At what age did you write your first song?

At 17 years old I wrote my first song, inspired by a sad love story about some friends of mine. They loved each other very much, but could not be together.

¿Cuándo decidiste dedicarte a la música profesionalmente?

When did you decide to be a musician professionally?

Two years ago, at age 26, I decided to devote myself entirely to music.

Located in Washington Heights we can find the best Brazilian food I've had in the United States. The famous and renowned chef Ricardo Cardona is the consulting chef of this great Brazilian restaurant. We had the privilege of tasting some dishes among them and to start “Pao de Queijo Sliders”, which contains a premium quality meat, fried quail eggs and a delicious Chimichurri sauce. We also had the pleasure of tasting “Salpicão”, which is a salad with different kinds of lettuce, nuts, raisins, ham and chicken. If the person is vegetarian they told us that take out the ham and chicken. We noticed that the staff at Sao is very accommodating towards their customers, as mentioned by one of their chef’s, Amilkar Gonell, “here at Sao Restaurant, we are eager to please”.

For the main course, we tasted “Moqueca de Camarao” which is a shrimp and rice dish with flavors of coconut and various other ingredients such as fruits and a coconut flake sauce which gives it a mysterious taste sure to make your palate fall in love with it. We also tasted “Picanha”, a grilled meat for which chef Ricardo Cardona prepared a special sauce, giving it a unique flavor. We were delighted to also try their “Fried Fish Brasileiro Style”, a cool bronzino which they prepared with quite the Brazilian style. Finally, we tasted their excellent “Salgadinhos Sortidos” which are empanadas filled with chicken or beef and have their dough prepared through a special recipe by chef Ricardo Cardona.

Additionally, the bar is filled with exotic drinks that can only be found at Sao, exclusively prepared by the internationally renowned and award-winning mixologist Nelson Lemus.

If you want to try something different, exotic and explosive, then go to Sao Restaurant. They are a Brazilian restaurant with a Latin fusion, with the famous Chef to the stars Ricardo Cardona as Chef Consultant, and Carlos Noguera and Amilkar Gonell as main chefs.

            BANDA DE ROCK LATINO

Entrevista a Los Rabanes

What brings you to the US?

This is a new stage for Los Rabanes on the American market and hopefully we will reconnect with our fans and enchant new generations. It will be a very energetic, intense show, we will be incorporating in this tour our recent work ‘Urban Rock’, which is the essence of a fusion rock band but with a very punk spirit.

What is your inspiration when it comes to writing new songs?

When we write songs we are mostly inspired by situations that happen on the street or personal experiences with our friends, also things we read in the newspaper but mostly events of our daily lives. Our lyrics always have a little sarcastic humor (but well intended) which gives that special flavor to our music.

From all your concerts and shows across your career, which is the one you remember the most?

Definitely, we think that the most important concert was in 1999 in Madrid, at the Alternative Independent Music Festival, Festimad. We were able to share with great bands like “The Black Crowes” and “Metallica”. We really enjoyed our fans and our shared experiences with the Spanish community in that concert.

English,,Last Thursday, August 14, Corcho Wine Room hosted a tribute to Spanish Rock legend “Bunbury” and his “Palosanto Tour 2014” through the voice and talent of the “The Frank Rhodes band”. Bunbury’s fans gathered at Corcho Wine Room in New York City to enjoy Bunbury’s songs as interpreted by the privileged voice of Frank Rhodes. With the usual pleasant atmosphere for those who frequent Corcho Wine Room, this was definitely a concert to remember, a fair tribute to the great Enrique Bunbury.
