Rising design star Ly Giam Tien will show his latest collection at Couture Fashion Week New York during the prestigious event’s 21st season. The highly anticipated fashion show will be held at 4:00 pm on Sunday February 15, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan, in the heart of the Big Apple. The show will include appearances by several recent Vietnam’s Next Top Model winners.
Ly Giam Tien is the winner of Project Runway Vietnam 2014 as well as the youngest design talent of the show. Surmounting tough challenges with intense resilience, he finally won the championship in the exciting finale. The 18 year old designer has overcome challenges in his personal life as well, with a rough childhood that included making a living as a snack vendor, mason and tailor. Thanks to those experiences, Ly Giam Tien is independent and fiercely determined to overcome any obstacles to achieve his dreams. Although the young designer has no formal training in the field, his passion for fashion, Unique creative,optimism and innate talent impresssed the fashion,luminares during the cut troat competition
collection he showcased during the season finale was inspired by Paris and its splendid architecture, and was distinguished by impeccable tailoring, fresh designs and decorative flair. Ly Giam Tien is a proud discovery of the show and he is moving forward to broaden his design career into international heights.
A few months after winning the Project Runway Vietnam competition, Ly Giam Tien presented his “Optical Illusion” collection at Vietnam International Fashion Week 2014. It was enthusiastically received by fashion professionals both nationally and internationally, including fashion luminary Emily Hwang, vice president of the Asia Couture Federation. In January 2015 Ly Giam Tien presented a new collection, “Origin”, inspired by the beauty and temperature of the human body. The collection was showcased in the Vietnam’s Next Top Model 2014 finale that was broadcast live on VTV3, the national channel with millions of viewers.
Ly Giam Tien was voted Breakthrough Designer by Men’s Culture and Sport Magazine in 2014, and was also named as a potential face poised to make a breakthrough in 2015 by Forbes Magazine.
